The firm was founded by Peter Madara, whose career spans more than two decades across Big 4 audit and corporate accounting leadership. He began in public accounting, developing a strong foundation in technical rigor and discipline, and later led technical accounting within a Fortune 500 environment, gaining a clear perspective on how policy, controls, and financial reporting must operate at scale.

Since founding GAAPTUS, Peter has worked closely with private equity-backed companies to identify and close gaps in accounting policies and ensure they are properly codified into repeatable processes. These gaps typically arise in complex, operational areas where policy, process, and execution intersect.
